Our coaches bring deep knowledge, experience, and genuine care to every session. Their role is to guide, support, and help each member make meaningful progress toward their goals.

REECE MCCAFFREY

I believe a great coach is right there beside their clients, every step of the way. That extends well beyond exercise prescription and guidance, encompassing everything from mental and emotional wellbeing outside the gym to injury prevention, improved nutrition and the creation of sustainable habits. 

A great coach not only becomes a friend, but ultimately one of the most trusted people in their clients’ lives. And that’s a responsibility I never take lightly. Some days that means pushing you beyond your perceived limits to elicit those incremental gains that lead to long-term success. Other times it could simply mean acting as a sounding board as you work through the challenges of daily life. 

Either way, I’m here to help you experience the best hour of your day, and the most empowering moments of your week.

SHANNON DURRANT

Growing up I was obsessed with rugby, making a number of representative sides and playing 1st XV rugby at CBHS, and Senior rugby at the Sumner Rugby Club. Unfortunately, my body didn’t get the memo, and my career was cut short by a number of significant injuries and ongoing niggles.

Funnily enough, that turned out to be a positive. It forced me to find new ways to stay healthy, fit and strong. It made me resilient, and proved to me that there is almost always something you can do to stay active and keep moving forward.

I’m incredibly proud of the culture we’ve built at Recreate – it’s a place with an amazing vibe, heaps of energy, and no D***heads!

JOSH MORRELL

As a coach I like to create an environment for clients to express whole life but my passion for strength and conditioning came later in life through finding ways to perform better on the field I quickly found how much it has helped me off the field as well.

As a coach I like to create an environment for clients to express themselves. I love being given the opportunity to apply my skill set to help others reach their utmost potential be it sports specific, aesthetic or personal growth goals. This can be achieved through physical training and or mindset coaching to develop mental fortitude and self belief.

TAMARA WYKES

My passion? Helping people build not just physical strength, but mental resilience and overall well-being. With nearly four years as a CrossFit coach and experience leading a variety of fitness classes, I've seen firsthand how powerful movement can be. My background in psychology fuels my approach, blending fitness with mindset strategies to help you thrive both in and out of the gym. When I'm not coaching, you'll probably find me Olympic lifting-or teaching others how to lift with confidence and proper technique. My mission is simple: challenge you, support you, give you shit and help you become the strongest version of yourself, inside and out.
